Discovery Community Church started as a dream of being a community of faith engaging our community with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Almost ten years into this journey, we have seen God do some incredible things in the lives of many people. But we are craving that God might position us in such a way that He might use us to bring even more of our friends and neighbors to the Christ.
We have begun a process to identify the areas in our church that need the most attention. After a survey and a follow-up retreat in early Oct, we have agreed to work on “need-based evangelism.”
It is our conviction that we must engage our neighbors “where they are”, introduce them to the gospel, and help people connect to healthy biblical community that fosters and grows their faith.
We have some work to do. Our leaders are rallying around this. The staff and Church Council are working in tandem to address this mission. The first steps require assembling some “implementation teams.” These teams are just now being assembled. The steps are being flushed out. We are getting ready for exciting and fruitful times.
